- Story Text:China's President Xi Jinping was presented on Wednesday (November 28) with the Golden Key of the Spanish capital Madrid by the city's mayor Manuela Carmena as Spain and China are set to seal a series of trade and institutional deals.
The two-day visit is the first official visit to Spain by a Chinese president in 13 years and a stop off ahead of his trip to a meeting of G20 leaders in Argentina on Friday (November 30) and Saturday (December 1).
Xi said the relationship between both countries is very important and that's why he chose Spain as first stop during his tour which will include Argentina, Panama and Portugal.
China and Spain will on Wednesday sign an accord on the export of Iberian ham to China, a Spanish government source said on Tuesday (November 27), in a deal that will include coveted, on-the-bone legs of pork. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
