- Story Text:'Black Panther' star Danai Gurira reacted on Thursday (December 6) to her film 'Black Panther''s three Golden Globe nominations.
The film, which conquered the box office when it was first released in February, was nominated for Best Motion Picture - Drama.
Speaking after reading out the nominations, Gurira said: ''It was really joyful, it was a beautiful thing. We've been such a great family all year for the past few years and you know we really came together in a really united way to tell a story we really believed in and to bring all we could to the fore and so to see it recognised is really beautiful."
A wide array of films got nominated for the Golden Globes with political comedy 'Vice' getting the most with six nominations and 'A Star Is Born', 'The Favourite' and 'Green Book'.
Marc Malkin, an editor at Variety magazine, said ''I think what is great about the Golden Globe nominations is diversity. We are really seeing diversity play out really well. You have 'Black Panther', 'BlacKkKlansman' 'Green Book'. These are movies about diversity, these are movies with faces of color. Sandra Oh co-hosting the Golden Globes, it's all about diversity.''
