- Story Text: Fierce rain and wind couldn't keep New Year's Eve hosts Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy away from Times Square.
Standing in the midst of a rainstorm atop of One Times Square on Friday (December 28) with the giant crystal ball in the background, Seacrest, the host of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019 said, "Every year it is exciting as the year before if not more so exciting, great performers, the elements of Time Square, over a million people gathered across the country from Hollywood to New Orleans."
Among the performers scheduled to perform in Times Square on New Year's Eve are Christine Aguilera, Bastille and New Kids On The Block.
Co-host Jenny McCarthy, who is married to Donnie Wahlberg of NKOTB, promised Donnie still has all the right moves.
"I watched those moves in the bedroom this week. I was like, 'oh man!'
Ryan Seacrest will host the annual countdown to midnight on December 31. This will be his 14th year hosting the popular event created by Dick Clark who died in 2012. Seacrest said it is "significantly special" to carry on the show.
"The number of people that tune in every year and the fact that he invited us to have the keys to this wonderful operation is something that we cherish and we never forget," Seacrest said.
McCarthy added, "He created New Year's Eve and then we are just honored to be the ones to carry it on."
