- Story Text: Members of the Hindu group 'Shiv Sena' protested on Tuesday (October 17) against the Pakistan cricket team as it played Sri Lanka in the Champions Trophy in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Shiv Sena has backed allegations that Pakistan supports terrorism and group leader Bal Thackery has called for a boycott of any cricket match involving the Pakistanis.
The Indian security agencies had brought in reinforcements because of the threat and what they said was a request from the Pakistan Cricket Board to the International Cricket Council.
Jaipur police superintendent Anil Kumar Jain said: "At least 100 activists of Shiv Sena had come to the stadium to agitate. They wanted to dig up the pitch, but we were prepared and pushed them back." - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
