Summary:In Chicago, a hostile group of white residents objected to a campaign by Dr Martin Luther King. He wanted to stop unofficial bans on blacks living in white areas. On one of his marches, Dr King was struck by a stone and narrowly missed by a knife. White opponents clashed both with the marchers and their police escort, and a number of them were arrested.
