- Story Text: One of the three terminals at India's largest container port - the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) was affected by the global ransomware attack on Wednesday (June 28).
The affected terminal is operated by the Danish shipping giant AP Moller-Maersk, which said on Tuesday that the cyber attack had caused outages in its computer systems globally.
The port has been trying to clear containers manually, but operational capacity has dropped to a third at the terminal, Anil Diggikar, JNPT chairman told Reuters.
Cyber Cell Chief of Maharashtra province, Brijesh Singh, confirmed the attack and said Microsoft patches should be installed to prevent the malicious software from spreading.
The cyber attack wreaked havoc around the globe on Wednesday, crippling thousands of computers and disrupting ports across the globe. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
