At least 10 people were killed and 60 injured in a collision between two trains near Pakistan's Sadiqabad on Thursday (July 11), local media reported.
The incident reportedly occurred when a passenger train bound for the western city of Quetta, crashed into a stationary freight train at the station in Sadiqabad, a city in Pakistan's Punjab province.
Rescue officials said hydraulic cutters had been called to the site to retrieve dead bodies from the badly-mangled train carriages, and that the death toll could rise.
Local media reported that an emergency had been declared at nearby hospitals in Sadiqabad and neighbouring Rahim Yar Khan, and that the injured were being rushed there for treatment.
This is the second fatal train crash in Pakistan within the past month. On June 20, at least three people died when a freight train collided with a passenger train near Hyderabad.
