- Story Text:One of the jailed leaders of Hong Kong's 2014 'Occupy' movement, Benny Tai, was released on bail on Thursday (August 15), where he told the media he was "touched" by the protest movements in recent weeks.
Tai, one of the nine leaders jailed for public nuisance offences relating to the "Occupy" protests, highlighted the challenges ahead, adding that "the golden era for Hong Kong is yet to come".
Ten weeks of increasingly violent confrontations between police and protesters have plunged Hong Kong into its worst crisis since it reverted from British to Chinese rule in 1997.
More protests are planned on Friday (August 16) and over the weekend in different areas of the Chinese-controlled territory.
