As you know, the president (Alexander Van der Bellen) will first speak to everyone. He will talk to all the parties and it appears this will start tomorrow, Wednesday. - Story Text:The fight against illegal immigration is a decisive reason why Austrians voted for Sebastian Kurz's People's Party, the OVP secretary general said in Vienna on Tuesday (October 1), two days after parliamentary elections.
Karl Nehammer told reporters that Kurz's "new style" appealed to voters and that the OVP hoped to form a new government.
Nehammer declined to say which party the former and possibly next chancellor favoured to enter a coalition government.
Snap elections were called when the former government of then Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and his coalition with the far-right FPO collapsed in May.
