- Story Text: Austrian soldiers on Tuesday (November 19) joined local volunteers in clearing debris from mudslides and avalanches from roads and remove heavy snow from trees to prevent future damage.
Heavy snow and rain in parts of Austria since last week have caused fatalities and seen the government declare a state of emergency in parts of the country.
Along with traffic disruption, bad weather caused evacuations in Styria and a massive power cut in East Tyrol on Monday (November 18) morning.
Italy's South Tyrol region was also hit by the bad weather.
