- Story Text: Christmas fever has begun to grip India ahead of the festivities of the winter holiday season.
School students were joined by residents of India's southern Thiruvananthapuram city on Saturday (December 21), as they wore Christmas-themed costumes and marched with a band playing carols in a procession.
The students also enacted scenes from Biblical stories in tableaux, that they paraded in the city during the procession.
India's financial hub Mumbai also saw people spreading Christmas cheer to children at a mall with circus performers and Santa Claus.
Christians form less than three percent of India's more than one billion population but Christmas is now widely celebrated in metros and other big cities with much pomp, fervour, and devotion. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
