- Story Text: An all-woman cab service at New Delhi's main airport has become an instant hit among women as authorities try to make the Indian capital safe for women.
The fleet of 20 'Women With Wheels' cabs stationed at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport provides a safer commuting option for women commuters in the capital city.
"You feel much safer with a women driver," said a commuter Rajni.
One woman reported a rape every 15 minutes on average in India in 2018, according to government data released earlier this month.
India strengthened its laws on sexual violence against women after the 2012 gang rape and murder of a woman on a Delhi bus that led to an outpouring of anger. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
