- Story Text:Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana promoted his upcoming film based on homosexuality in India's tinsel town of Mumbai on Thursday (February 06).
The film, 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' (auspicious propitious extra alert) revolves around two gay men played by Khurrana and popular web-series actor Jitendra Kumar and how they struugle to convince their families about their relationship.
"It feels great. It is clear that India is ready for this kind of film now. When the trailer was launched and we read the comments, there was not even one negative comment, which is great," said Khurrana.
Though the country scrapped the colonial-era ban on gay sex in 2018, it is still considered taboo by many in socially conservative India, as well as in neighboring Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
