He is at the stage of his career, between 33 to 37, where a goalkeeper can be at his peak and he has the desire. As long as you have the right attitude (you) can always improve in life. I don't think it's down to him to different training methods, it's just down for him to keep at the top physically and for the rest, with his experience he will always improve" VARIOUS OF ARSENAL TRAINING IN THEIR STADIUM WITH CECH (SOUNDBITE) (English) WENGER SAYING OF CECH: "Well he can, I think, improve level of communication at the back, you know and bring his experience to our defenders and bring a calmness as well in some heated situations into our team. So on both fronts, communication - of course his individual class - and as well, I think his calmness will be vital as well. It's important that you're calm" ARSENAL TRAINING CECH TRAINING (SOUNDBITE) (English) WENGER SAYING OF PEOPLE'S COMMENTS: "Look, the pressure is we have more desire to do well, the pressure we want to really do well and we want to play and we enjoy to play together. I think what you want is not to listen too much to what people say because sometimes in the same week I get two different approaches: one, I don't spend too much - not enough; and one, I spend too much. So I believe it's, if you want to create success, what we want desperately is to focus on inside and just do as well as we can and believe in the football we want to play and play it as well as we can and let other people talk" WENGER AT TRAINING PLAYERS TRAINING WENGER AT TRAINING (SOUNDBITE) (English) WENGER SAYING OF FACING CHELSEA: "I believe that, I think Chelsea has beaten us at Chelsea last year 2-0 where we felt that we gave the game a little bit away. At home we played 0-0, so it's a third opportunity for us to beat them and we have a good opportunity to show that we have improved. It's on neutral ground. We had success there at Wembley, we had success there, so it will be very interesting" VARIOUS OF ARSENAL TRAINING WATCHED BY FANS WENGER LEAVING AFTER NEWS CONFERENCE

- Story Text: Arsenal meet Chelsea in the FA Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday (August 2) and manager Arsene Wenger says his new signing from the Blues, goalkeeper Petr Cech, will bring vital calmness to the Gunners squad.
The shield is played for by Arsenal as FA Cup winners and Chelsea as Premier League champions, with the Gunners defending the title as winners last year over Manchester City.
Cech, aged 33, has just joined Arsenal from Chelsea and Wenger says the goalkeeper can get even better.
"No, I believe that Petr Cech was already at the top, but I believe that you can never turn down (deny) that you can improve, you know and what is from his experience he will improve still. He is at the stage of his career, between 33 to 37, where a goalkeeper can be at his peak and he has the desire. As long as you have the right attitude (you) can always improve in life. I don't think it's down to him to different training methods, it's just down for him to keep at the top physically and for the rest, with his experience he will always improve," Wenger told a news conference during his club's open day at their north London stadium.
The Frenchman said the Czech 'keeper would bring better communication and calmness to the Gunners' squad.
"Well he can, I think, improve level of communication at the back, you know and bring his experience to our defenders and bring a calmness as well in some heated situations into our team. So on both fronts, communication - of course his individual class - and as well, I think his calmness will be vital as well. It's important that you're calm," said Wenger.
The Arsenal coach was also asked about the comments people make and he said he concentrated on playing, not listening.
"Look, the pressure is we have more desire to do well, the pressure we want to really do well and we want to play and we enjoy to play together. I think what you want is not to listen too much to what people say because sometimes in the same week I get two different approaches: one, I don't spend too much - not enough; and one, I spend too much. So I believe it's, if you want to create success, what we want desperately is to focus on inside and just do as well as we can and believe in the football we want to play and play it as well as we can and let other people talk," said Wenger.
As for facing Chelsea on Sunday, the Arsenal boss said it would be interesting.
"I believe that, I think Chelsea has beaten us at Chelsea last year 2-0 where we felt that we gave the game a little bit away. At home we played 0-0, so it's a third opportunity for us to beat them and we have a good opportunity to show that we have improved. It's on neutral ground. We had success there at Wembley, we had success there, so it will be very interesting," said Wenger. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
