- Story Text: Bars in Belgium's capital Brussels were forced to shut at midnight (2300 GMT) on Friday (March 13) in an effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
People celebrated before the mandatory shutdown came into place, and police were seen arriving outside one bar to ensure that the closure took place.
Belgium currently has 556 cases of coronavirus, and has reported three deaths.
The World Health Organisation declared the virus outbreak a pandemic this week. The total number of cases has now reached 138,097 spread across more than 130 countries.
