- Story Text: Long lines formed outside grocery stores and supermarkets across Barbados where the number of COVID-19 cases jumped to 51 from 46 a day earlier.
The government imposed a 24-hour curfew that went into effect on Friday night (April 3), prompting residents of the Caribbean nation to rush to supermarkets before they shuttered their doors to the public.
The shutdown is expected to end on April 14.
Barbados' first case of COVID-19 was recorded on March 16.
