Rome once an open city is now resembling a ghost town.
Italy's daily death and infection tallies have declined but are not falling steeply, as was hoped by Italians who have been in lockdown for a month now. As of Sunday (April 12) the death toll

Greece reported its first case of coronavirus on February 26 and has immediately cancelled all carnival events in the country. By March 10, schools were closed and by March 22, less than a month after its first case, the government called a nation-wide lockdown. Currently the country has 2,011 cases and 92 deaths, according to Reuters tall on Saturday (April 11).
Paris has gone silent since restrictions to free movement were put into place effective March 17, obliging people to stay at home for at least 15 days. France has so far tallied a total of 90,676 confirmed cases of the virus, including 13,197 deaths.
Moscow went into partial lockdown at the end of March and residents are only allowed to leave their homes to buy food or medicine nearby, get urgent medical treatment, walk the dog or take out the rubbish and President Vladimir Putin has extended paid non-working period across Russia until April 30. Russia reported 1,667 new coronavirus cases on Saturday (April 11), bringing the national tally of confirmed cases to 13,584.The number of coronavirus-related deaths in the country rose to 106, the Russian coronavirus crisis response center said.
Berlin's streets are empty as the number of confirmed coronavirus infections rose by 2,821 on Sunday to 120,479, data from the Robert Koch Institute for infectious diseases showed. That was lower than a 4,133 increase reported on Saturday (April 11), and marked the second decline after four days of increases. The reported death toll rose by 129 to 2,673.
More than 1.6 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 106,259 have died, according to a Reuters tally. Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
