Summary:On May 22 1967 President Nasser announces that Egypt is closing the Gulf of Aqaba to any shipping carrying the Israeli flag. The closure, announced by Nasser to an audience of Egyptian Air Force officers, put the seal on Israel's decision to launch an all-out attack on Egypt. The Six-Day War followed fifteen days later.
