- Story Text: Robbie Williams brings his greatest hits to Paris, with a private concert of 'In & Out of Consciousness'.
'Let Me Entertain You' he cried, and that is what he did. British pop star Robbie Williams, doing what he does best, delighted fans at a sold-out concert in Paris on Sunday (October 10).
Presenting his new album 'In & Out of Consciousness - Greatest hits 1990-2010', the King of Brit Pop rocked the private RTL concert in a packed Alhambra concert hall.
Williams has said that he feels it is incredible for him to realise he has been making music and playing gigs for twenty years, and the age of fans packed into the exclusive venue varied across the generations.
The new album he performed features the newly released single with Gary Barlow, their first collaboration of its kind since Williams' departure from Take That in 1995.
The duet, which the two stars also co-wrote, is called "Shame" and is fuelling speculation that Williams is set to re-join his old band to perform.
The two former colleagues did treat fans in Paris to the first rendition of "Shame" at a concert - but unfortunately away from the cameras.
Gary Barlow has told British press that Take That plan to tour together with Williams next summer after reconciling their differences, but the reunion is likely to be temporary.
It will certainly please fans though, how ever long it lasts. "I think it is great," said one fan, Alexandra, "I am of the Take That generation, I know all their songs. I will definitely go and see them in concert."
Williams, 36, left the chart-topping boy band in 1995 and went on to forge a successful solo career. But his fortunes have waned while Take That, which reformed without Williams in 2005, has flourished.
Whether the two sides would finally get back together has long been the subject of fevered speculation in the British press, and in July Williams confirmed he would be joining his old band mates to record an album due out in November.
Williams has sold 57 million albums worldwide and has won more Brit awards than any other artist. His new album is released on Virgin Records, part of EMI. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
