- Story Text: German police continue the search for a 22-year-old American who went missing in Frankfurt two weeks ago.
German police on Friday (December 04) continued the search for a young American who went missing in Frankfurt two weeks ago.
According to a spokesman, police so far have no clues on the whereabouts of 22-year-old English teacher Devon Hollahan from Scottsdale, Arizona who was reported missing in Germany's financial capital on November 20.
"We were able to find a rucksack which we could associate to missing Devon Hollahan without any doubt," Frankfurt police spokesman Alex Loehr said.
"The rucksack was already found on November 21 here in Frankfurt and was made available to us two days ago."
Loehr added that "the rucksack is not the lead which we too were hoping for."
"Of course the belongings of a missing person always bear traces but in this case not about the whereabouts of Devon Hollahan and where he currently is or what happened to him."
The 22-year-old went missing early on Saturday (November 28) at around 3 a.m. local time after attending a concert with a friend who joined him from Prague, Czech Republic where both men live.
Since then, the family has had no contact with their son and there has been no activity on Devon Hollahan's credit card.
According to media reports, Devon and his friend took a taxi after the concert to get into the vicinity of their hostel.
Once they got out of the taxi the friend is reported to have stopped to ask directions and when he turned around Devon was gone.
"We take every clue seriously but so far we did not receive the decisive clue from the public, either on him or the rucksack," Frankfurt police spokesman Alex Loehr said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
