An administrative hearing into the U.S. extradition case against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is due to take place in London on Monday (June 1).
But Assange will have to wait until at least September for a British judge to hear the United States' case for extradition.
Judge Vanessa Baraitser said on April 27 that the hearings would be delayed due to the the coronavirus lockdown.
Assange's legal team had argued that they had been unable to speak to their client because of strict measures introduced to combat the spread of COVID-19, and lawyers acting for the United States said they agreed it would be unsafe to continue.
Baraitser agreed the hearings could not take place if lawyers were unable to appear in person in the court room. - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
