- Story Text: A "Vaccination Super Station" opened in San Diego on Monday (January 11) to administer the treatment to health workers in the region.
San Diego County says half a million health workers in the region who are eligible for Phase 1A priority vaccination.
The goal of the drive-in station, located near Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, is to vaccinate a minimum of 5,000 health workers a day.
The "Super Station", which contains 42,000 square feet of tenting, will be open from 7am to 7pm seven days a week.
The idea for the operation was conceived last week and put into practice by San Diego County, UC San Diego Health, the San Diego Padres and the City of San Diego.
