- Story Text:Rohingya leaders in a Bangladesh refugee camp on Monday (February 1) said they are hoping for international pressure on Myanmar following a military coup against the democratically elected government of Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi.
Abul Bashar said neither the military nor Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy party had treated Rohingya well.
He added that he was also worried that the developments would delay repatriation efforts.
While Suu Kyi is still hugely popular at home, her international reputation was damaged after she failed to stop the forced expulsion of hundreds of thousands of ethnic Rohingya Muslims in 2017. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
