- Story Text: Russian transport minister Maxim Sokolov said on Sunday (December 25) no survivors were found after military plane with 92 people on board crashed into Black Sea.
The jet, a Soviet-era Tupolev plane built in 1983, had been carrying 84 passengers and eight crew members.
At least 60 were members of the Red Army Choir, also known as the Alexandrov Ensemble, who were being flown out to Russia's Hmeymim air base in Syria to entertain troops in the run-up to the New Year.
Nine Russian reporters had also been on board as well as military servicemen.
According to the defence ministry's passenger manifest, Elizaveta Glinka, a member of Putin's advisory human rights council, was on the plane.
The Russian defence ministry said a search operation will continue during the night.
The search operation involved four ships, four helicopter and plane and a drone, defence ministry spokesman said earlier.
Sochi residents brought flowers and candles to the seafront in the city centre to honour the victims of the plane crash. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
