German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin are expected to meet in Moscow on Friday (August 20).
The meeting may become the last one for Merkel in her current role.
Both leaders have met dozens of times as they stayed in power for years.
The archive footage looks back on changes in communication style between them: from their meeting in September of 2005, even before Merkel become Chancellor, through summits and conferences, to the last meeting on the eve of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
