We are happy that there is no theft, robbery cases (anymore). I hope that the economic situation becomes better; we just need this price hike to end. Some of the Islamic Emirates (Taliban) members are misusing their power; some sort of racial profiling is being done. They ask us: 'what are you wearing?' They also ask us questions about our beards. They don't question the Pashtuns, only those who speak Persian. This is not good, it should be stopped." VARIOUS OF PEOPLE MAKING FLAT BREAD TRAFFIC

- Story Text:Kabul residents said they felt uncertain about various issues on Saturday (September 4), as the Taliban delays forming a new government since sweeping into power on August 15.
Foreign countries meddling in Afghanistan's affairs had Fazal Khan worried about more upheaval. "We can't tell which way the country is going... there is a possibility that a war may begin here."
The prices of commodities was also on the minds of several residents, who said costs had been hiked and needed to come down.
Rahim Ullah said some Taliban members were misusing their powers and performing "racial profiling", by questioning only Persian-speaking people. "They ask us: 'What are you wearing?' They also ask us questions about our beards," he said.
Taliban sources said the group's co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar would lead a new government set to be announced on Saturday. Its first task may be to stave off the collapse of an economy grappling with drought and the ravages of a 20-year war. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
