- Story Text: Actress Amy Adams became the latest of this year's award season nominees to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday (January 11), following Jeff Bridges and Viola Davis last week.
Adams came to the public's attention with the film 'Catch Me If You Can' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, and solidified her career in Hollywood when she received an Academy Award nominee for her role as a troubled girl in 'Junebug'.
The actress turned out with her 'Arrival' co-star Jeremy Renner, who gave the crowd a rundown of her career.
"As an actress, she has won 60 awards, 174 nominations, nominated for 7 Golden Globes and five Oscars," he stated. He then added "She worked at Hooters. Just saying."
Also on hand were Adams' artist-husband, Darren Le Gallo, and the couple's daughter, Aviana Olea Le Gallo.
Adams herself recalled her first experience in Hollywood when it was her turn to take to the podium. "When I first drove on to the Disney lot, I think it was January 21st, 1999 - not that I'm keeping track," she said. "That was my first ever audition in Los Angeles and I never, ever expected that it would lead me to this moment to receive this honor. I never expected when I got a call that Steven Spielberg wanted to meet me, that he would actually give me a job. And when I fully expected to leave the industry, Phil Morrison showed up with 'Junebug'."
Adams, who received the 2,598th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, will soon be filming 'Disenchanted', the sequel to the live action 2007 Disney princess film 'Enchanted'. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
