- Story Text: Police officials in the Nepal's capital of Kathmandu awarded medals to dogs on Wednesday (November 03) as part of 'Kukur Tihar' celebrations where dogs are honoured.
At the Central Dog Training School, dogs were given medals for their contribution to security purposes and helping officials solve cases.
The dogs underwent different types of training session during the event that was organized to felicitate them and were also offered special feast, and worshipped with vermillion powder and flowers.
"Dogs help solve the issues of murders by leading to the culprits, threats and when at some places some suspicious packages are left then at that time, the demand for dogs increase. We attribute it as our success," Senior Superintendent, Nepal Police Dr. Deuti Gurung.
'Kukur Tihar', falls on the second day of the five-day-long Hindu festival 'Tihar,' more commonly known as Diwali. The day is dedicated to cherish the relationship between humans and dogs. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
