  • Story Text:As dusk falls and temperatures sink, the situation remains tense on the border between Poland and Belarus on Tuesday, where hundreds of migrants are camped in the forest and huddled around campfires near the border.
    Despite the wire fence and Polish border guards trying to block their entry into the European Union, some migrants managed to make it into Poland, including a group of 15 near Narewka, where one man carried a sign reading 'I apply for asylum in Poland'.
    Once there, the migrants were greeted by border officials who took them to a detention facility where NGO Grupa Granica said they had applied for asylum.
    While these migrants were successful in making their way into EU territory, hundreds are still camped near the border region of Kuznica, hoping to cross soon.
    Temperatures below -2 degrees Celsius are expected again for the border region on the night of Tuesday.
