- Story Text: Christians in India offered prayers at churches as they celebrated Easter Sunday (April 17), commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ after he was crucified.
Christ's resurrection is seen as a sign of new beginnings and hopes, and it is thought that people who believe in him will be resurrected as well.
A large number of devotees in various Indian states gathered at churches and took part in mass as they remembered Christ on the occasion.
"We have been saved…God has saved us…Has brought new life in us who were dead in sin and we must continue this way of life always and praising Jesus in everything we say and do." said a Mumbai-based devotee, Emily D Souza.
This was after a gap of almost two years of pandemic and subsequent coronavirus restrictions that the devotees could gather for mass to offer prayers. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
