- Story Text: Russia will continue its "special military operation" in Ukraine until all goals have been achieved, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Friday (June 3).
"One of the main goals of the operation is the protection of the people in the (self-proclaimed) Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic. The measures are being taken to ensure the protection (of the people's republics) and that certain results are achieved," Peskov said, referring to the two breakaway regions of Ukraine's Donbas region largely controlled by Russian-backed separatists.
Peskov also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin would discuss the growing global food crisis with the chairperson of the African Union, Macky Sall, who is also president of Senegal, on Friday and give him an "exhaustive" explanation as to what is really happening with Ukrainian grain.
