- Story Text:Dozens of Johnny Depp fans celebrated outside a Fairfax, Virginia, courthouse on Wednesday (June 1) afternoon after a jury ruled that his ex-wife and actor, Amber Heard, defamed him in a widely watched six-week trial that featured explicit and graphic evidence and testimony detailing the former Hollywood couple's soured relationship.
"Well, I think that abuse can go both ways. And when I heard him speak, I felt like he was sincere. I believe what he said. I feel like he talked from his heart. And I'm glad that he won," said Sandra Poulos, a Florida resident who has been keenly following the trial.
The seven-person jury also ruled in favor of Heard in some aspects of her counter-suit against Depp.
Jurors awarded Depp $15 million in damages from Heard. The panel awarded Heard $2 million in damages.
