- Story Text: 'Rahmaniya Hotel' in India's southern Kerala state has been serving 'Kethel Chicken', a fried chicken dish that is mixed in spices, for at least 70 years with customers thronging its doors for decades for an authentic taste of the popular dish.
'Kethel Chicken' is usually accompanied with Indian flatbread or rice mixed with clarified butter.
"The food, including the chicken, is very tasty. This is a very old hotel and I have known this hotel for many years," said a customer, Vinod on Saturday (August 06).
The restaurant was opened in Thiruvananthapuram in 1940 as an all-day diner with mutton as its specialty. After two decades, in the late 1960s it started serving 'Kethel Chicken' and it has been attracting customers ever since.
The Rahmaniya Group currently has six outlets across Kerala with the primary franchise being in Thiruvananthapuram's Chalai Bazaar. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
