He does not owe the Russian Federation anything else. His prosecution at this point is purely political-motivated." VARIOUS OF RUSSIAN NATIONAL GUARD VEHICLE

Russian opposition politician and ex-mayor of Yekaterinburg Yevgeny Roizman arrived in court on Thursday (August 25) to face allegations of "discrediting the Russian army".
The offence, newly introduced after Russia's Feb. 24 start of what it calls its "special military operation" in Ukraine, carries a prison sentence of up to five years.
Roizman's case centres on a Q&A session held on YouTube, according to the prosecution, which asked the judge to impose a number of restrictions on the former mayor, including on leaving his home and using the internet.
Roizman's former lawyer, speaking outside the court before the hearing, said the case was "politically motivated".
