- Story Text: South Korea staged an anti-terror drill simulating chemical and drone attack on headquarter of Seoul's subway on Wednesday (August 24), as part of the country's annual Ulchi civil defence drills.
About 230 personnel from 12 organizations including special operations command (SOCOM), chemical, biological, and radiological protection command (CBRPC), special police squad, and fire station joined the drill, Seoul Metro said.
Military and police were seen repelling down, breaking into building and rescuing people from attackers, while explosive disposal team removed mock chemical bomb.
The Ulchi civil defence drills, which are held from August 22 to 25, aim to check the country's crisis management and emergency preparedness amid North Korea's recent missile threats, the first nationwide government drills since the coronavirus pandemic, according to Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
