Aerial video captured Hurricane Ian vast trail of indiscriminate destruction across South West Florida on Thursday (September 29) showing roofs peeled off, capsized boats piling up at decimated marinas, piers torn apart and streets covered in water.
The bird-eye shots also showed a causeway, the only way to get to Sanibel Island from the mainland, completely destroyed.
People in Iona were seen kayaking through the neighborhood, floating past scattered debris and torn apart trees.
After weakening to a tropical storm, Ian was expected to strengthen and make landfall as a hurricane in South Carolina on Friday (September 30).
