- Story Text: The "a" to Hogwarts encyclopedia of Harry Potter is being brought to life at an interactive exhibit some 40 miles (65 km) north of New York City.
"Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience," at the FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights in Westchester County is opening to the public Saturday (October 22).
"You're going to get all of those creatures that you expect to see," said Heather McGill, the executive producer, and creative director. "All of the films from 'Harry Potter' have The Forbidden Forest in them. So you can expect to see everything from Giants, Hagrid, and Fang."
Centered around a lit trail, visitors are brought through the illuminated forest, and move past lifelike versions of Hedwig, Giants, and Rubeus Hagrid.
Also featured are interactive displays featuring centaurs.
"You can have a wand battle with your family and you can even cast a spell in the forest. So there's things to see and things to do when you're here," McGill said.
The interactive park is organized by Warner Brothers Themed Entertainment along with partners Thinkwell and Unify.
Another site of the experience is open in western England with others in Virginia and Belgium.
Tickets are $55 for children, $66 for adults.
"Harry Potter" will remain open to the public until January 22, 2023.
