  • Story Text:A Saudi Arabian food festival hosted residents from across the kingdom to introduce the masses to a variety of cuisines and cultural flavours, aiming to "consolidate and sustain Saudi cuisine."
    Visitors brushed up on their culinary skills and sampled tastes from various Saudi regions during the event.
    An outdoor space hosted a dedicated area showcasing several new spins on traditional Saudi cuisine and another for educational and entertainment activities for adults and children.
    The Saudi Arabian Culinary Arts Commission organised the event to encourage youth to pursue business ventures in the food space and to highlight the food as an "authentic national heritage". They hope to add the festival to the calendar for international food events and to shed light on one of the kingdom's important legacies.
    "We must teach our children how to preserve our culture and our traditional food because after all, this is our homeland and our future," said Saudi Chef, Doa’a al-Soosy
    According to the Culinary Arts Commission, the festival is the largest of its kind in the Middle East and will run until December 23rd.
