- Story Text:Drivers and passengers waited for hours to pass the checkpoint on the Crimea bridge on Friday (December 30) due to increased security measures in place.
The line of cars for inspection at the entrance to the bridge formed against a backdrop of an increased flow of traffic during the New Year holidays.
Despite the long queues, drivers agreed that the security measures were justified.
"It is necessary, of course, there must be checks for who is arriving, for what reasons," said Amirjaniyan Naira, one of the passengers waiting.
In addition, the bridge continues to be subject to restrictions because of the blast that happened on October 8.
Russian officials said the explosion was caused by a truck that blew up while crossing the bridge, killing three people. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
