- Story Text:Drone video over Wilton, California showed a wide expanse of flood waters submerging farmlands and residential properties after at least two levees broke down, prompting a deluge from the Cosumnes River.
The first levee failed on Saturday evening (December 31) and the second, on Sunday (January 1), following heavy storms in the area.
Residents were asked to move to higher ground and take shelter from the fast-moving water.
Northern California has been slammed by a powerful weather system called an "atmospheric river" that brought heavy rain to the region.
Further storms are expected this week, according to the National Weather Service.
