  • Story Text: Saying it really appealed to her aesthetic, former model and actress Andie MacDowell showed her dress by Marc Cain at a show of the label at Berlin Fashion Week on Wednesday night (January 18).
    "I'm either in a man's suit most of the time or I love to be very feminine," said MacDowell, who modeled for luxury fashion brand Calvin Klein in the past and attended the Berlin Fashion Week along with her daughter, actress Rainey Qualley.
    MacDowell was invited as the Marc Cain Special Guest of the evening by Helmut Schlotterer, the head of the
    German brand.
    Schlotterer founded the company in the 1970s in Italy before returning to his hometown in southern Germany.
    "We were always drawn to go further, to change and this dynamic, you can see it in this collection. And you can see it on the global markets even more so than in Germany," he told Reuters, adding his company is "very successful in the U.S. and in Canada."
    Taking over his father's textile shop, textile printing has become one of the trademark looks of the brand which Schlotterer hopes to expand.
    "I also want to develop our European production further. At the site in Bodelshausen we work 24/7 in shifts and I like that," Schlotterer said.
    Fashion label Marc Cain presented its 2023 fall fashion at the Berlin Fashion Week. The event, which Berlin has hosted since 2007, kicked off on Sunday (January 15) and ends on Saturday (January 21).
