  • Story Text: At 17, the star of the Harry Potter films Daniel Radcliffe became the youngest actor at Madame Tussauds to be unveiled as a wax figure on Monday (July 2).
    The wax figure of the actor in London was dressed in a suit and tie which organisers for the museum said has come to be his trademark in his later years.
    "The trigger factor if you like was 'Equus', the play, I think that was first time critics in the UK realised Daniel Radcliffe was an acting talent in his own right. He'll be looking at other film roles, other stage roles and I think people will identify with him not just one particular film franchise. That's why we were so keen to launch Daniel here with his trademark red carpet suit rather than anything else," said Ben Lovett of Madame Tussauds.
    Radcliffe is best known for his role as the boy wizard in the Harry Potter films but surprised fans by starring in the London theatre production of "Equus" without shirtless earlier this year.
    "Harry Potter: The Order of the Phoenix" will get its European premiere at Leicester Square on Tuesday (July 3).
    The waxwork will feature alongside Hollywood legends such as John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts in the museum's Blush area.
    Radcliffe will turn 18 on July 23.
