  • Story Text:Swedish pop icons ABBA celebrated 50 years of "Ring Ring" this month, having released their debut album of the same name in March 1973.
    To mark the milestone, group member Bjorn Ulvaeus took a trip to Stockholm's ABBA museum.
    "Spooky" forces appeared to be at work when Bjorn received an unexpected phone call from a familiar sounding voice.
    It was none other that fellow ABBA member Anni-Frid Lyngstad - better known as Frida.
    "How did you know I was in the museum?" Bjorn queried.
    "It's almost (as if) an inner voice told you to ring ring. Do you think it could be something to do with the 50th anniversary of 'Ring Ring'?"
    "Oh yes of course it could be," Frida responded.
    "Ring Ring" was released in Scandinavia on March 26, 1973, when the group was simply known as Bjorn & Benny, Agnetha & Frida.
    The title track hit the top spot in the Swedish charts, laying the ground work for the group to become the household names they are today.
    Half a century later, ABBA has released nine studio albums and 50 singles, and has had success all over the globe.
    "Let's call each other every 50 years," Bjorn said to Frida, promising to be in the museum once again in 50 years time.
    Frida didn't quite make the same commitment, but hoped to be there too.
    "Maybe someone else has to call then," she said.
