Neighbors in Alabama are eager to learn more about the shooting that killed four people during a "Sweet 16" party on Saturday (April 15) in the community of Dadeville.
Alexander City resident, Jessica Ware, told Reuters the community is "devastated, worried and scared" to know a suspect could still be at large because authorities have not said whether any suspect in the shooting had died or been arrested.
On the night of the shooting, Ware drove to Dadeville's Lake Martin community hospital upon learning the daughter of one of her friends had been at the party and had survived. She also knows other people who were shot and are still under hospital care.
According to Ware, there were armed people at the party who were asked to leave but "chose not to.'' She also thinks there could have been multiple shooters involved, although authorities have not provided details on exactly what happened or the number of shooters.
All four who were killed were high school seniors. Of the nine injured who were still hospitalized, five remained in critical condition, Heidi Smith, a spokesperson for Lake Martin Community Hospital, said at a news conference on Monday.
