- Story Text:Angry motorists confronted climate activists from the Ultima Generazione (Last Generation) group after they blocked a busy street in front of Rome's Colosseum on Thursday (April 20).
The blockade caused disruption for commuters trying to get to work and caused angry reactions from motorists before police managed to clear the road by dragging the protesters away.
Ultima Generazione is part of the A22 network of climate civil disobedience groups active in several countries, such as Just Stop Oil in the UK, Stop Old Growth in Canada, Derniere Renovation in France and Declare Emergency in the United States.
In March the climate activists of ''Ultima Generazione'' sprayed orange paint on the walls of iconic Florence's Palazzo Vecchio to protest against the lack of action to tackle global warming.
Last year, activists from the same group hurled paint at Milan's La Scala opera house and blocked the Mont Blanc tunnel in a joint action with fellow campaigners from France.
