- Story Text: Hundreds of wildfires rage across Canada, spewing smoke-choked air across the country and into parts of the United States.
In Canada's oil province Alberta, which has reported 864 wildfires this year, at least 20 out of 120 current fires burn out of control. Meanwhile, Quebec reported that several days of rain had helped firefighters reduce their fires from 160 in the beginning of June to 101 wildfires currently, none of which are out of control.
Canada is on track for its worst-ever wildfire season with fires wildfires scorching British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwestern Territories in the west; Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia in the east.
