- Story Text: Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh has married her long-time partner Jean Todt, former race driver Felipe Massa revealed in a social media post on Thursday (July 27) night.
Massa shared a photo of a note detailing the long courtship of the happy couple in an Instagram post with the caption wishing a "happy marriage" to Todt and Yeoh.
"Today after 6992 days on 27th July 2023 in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!" the note shared by Massa, featuring a photo of Todt and Yeoh, read.
In the note Yeoh and Todt say they met in Shanghai on June 4, 2004 and that Todt proposed to Yeoh a month and a half later, on July 26, 2004. With a day's difference, their wedding celebrations come exactly 19 years later.
Yeoh, 60, made history in March this year as the first Asian actress to win the prestigious Academy Award in the show's 95 years for her role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once". She got her start in Hong Kong action movies in the 1990s and broke through in Hollywood when she was cast as the first ethnic Chinese Bond girl in 1997’s “Tomorrow Never Dies†opposite Pierce Brosnan. Since then, she has enjoyed success in a range of genres, solidifying her reputation as both a big-budget action star and formidable acting talent.
Todt, 77, who presided over Michael Schumacher's golden years at Ferrari, served as the president of Formula One's world governing body FIA from 2009 to 2021.
