- Story Text: The Olympic site for rowing events during the Paris 2024 Games welcomed the World Rowing under 19 Championships on Thursday (August 3), a chance to carry out technical tests before the international sporting event next year.
Despite the awful weather with strong winds and occasional showers, crews from around the world took part in the heats in order to qualify for the final stages that will place until Sunday (August 6).
The nautical stadium, a 2-km stretch of water situated 30 minutes by car east of the French capital, will welcome rowing and canoeing events during the Olympics, which will kick off on July 26, 2024.
Working closely with World Rowing, the international rowing federation, Paris 2024 Rowing Sport Manager Pascale Bouton was paying close attention at any issues during the races that could arise during the Games.
The site will be able to welcome up to 24,000 spectators.
