- Story Text:People in a Moroccan camp for those affected by the devastating earthquake queued for meals from a military kitchen on Sunday (September 17).
Soldiers cook 18,000 meals each day around the clock for displaced people living in the military aid camp in Amizmiz, the military said.
More than 1,500 people receive the meals, according to the military, with women and children served first followed by the men.
The people in the camp receive medical treatment daily, the military said.
"They give us medicine, they ask us if anybody is sick and treat us if needed. They come to check up on us at night to see if everything is okay and if we need anything," said one woman in the camp, Jammo Ajamil.
Another woman said that while people had food and accommodation, they still needed clothes for their children.
The 6.8 magnitude quake that struck late on September 8 killed 2,946 people and injured 5,674, according to the latest official figures, making it Morocco's deadliest since 1960 and most powerful since at least 1900.
