Italian rockers “Maneskin†will kick off the U.S. leg of their RUSH! World Tour with a sold-out crowd at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
The concert is scheduled for Thursday (September 21).
"Like every time we play, I have like this moment where I'm like, oh, shit…And then it's just like gives you a pinch me moment in some way,†said bass player Victoria De Angelis.
The band said they are preparing to do something special for the show, but that their normal preparation would shock people.
“It’s so disappointing because we didn't do anything crazy. We just do like ten days of rehearsal,†said lead singer Damiano David before admitting: “I exaggerated…. to look more professional. Okay, we do five days of rehearsals, and – I go, I leave the last two days,†he said while laughing.
The quartet surprised Times Square passersby with a 20-minute concert last week that included their hit songs, “Beggin†and “Torna a casa".
“We were thinking like, just comparing because like when we started playing in Italy and we were releasing like one of our first singles.. So, it was crazy to see the comparison between when we played it in the streets, like of our hometown and now playing in like in New York, you know,†said De Angelis.
The band said fame hasn’t changed them but they do take advantage of the perks.
“Sometimes you get this feeling of like it's a little bit scary because you're like, you don't know if you're going to be able to build healthy and, and long relationships. But at the same time, of course, it, it gave us the possibility to do a lot of great things also outside of our job. Like it opened a lot of doors for us. So, like everything else has pros and cons,†said David.
“Getting into every party for free,†joked De Angelis.
“Maneskin†is scheduled to end their tour on December 19 in Manchester, United Kingdom.
